Shelter Pass

Shelter passes are large towns stratigically positioned on throughfares around Aradoth and parts of the Dalimond Penninsula. Constructed after the Fourth Battle of Tazoon, they were originally intended as stronghold locations where the Living Races could survive in the event of complete military defeat. In the time since they have become pre-fabricated housing for the many refugees.

Most often these ‘towns’ are built into the side of large, sheer cliffs or valleys; excavated deep into the surrounding bedrock and supplied by large, subterranian housing and hydroponic agricultureal areas. It goes without saying that these bunkers were well defended, however secrecy was always intended to be their primary means of remaining intact.

Following the success of the Living Races at the Third Battle of Feledan, the intensity of the Aegis attacks diminished and their high-tempo operations on the mainland largely ceased. The Imperial government, faced with a massive refugee problem and unable to construct habitation fast enough threw open the doors of these facilities to those unfortunates left homeless by the scourge of the Aegis. Maintained at readiness nonetheless, the caverns once intended to preserve life on the face of Istaria are now home to the future of its children.
